After earning a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from The University of Texas at San Antonio, she grounded her work in a deep understanding of funding mechanisms, governance frameworks, and land-use decision-making. Earlier in her career, she worked across public agencies and nonprofit organizations—including the San Antonio Area Foundation, Neighborhood Housing Services SA, the City of San Antonio’s Environmental Policy Office, the Southside First Economic Development Council, and the National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders—supporting initiatives related to housing finance, energy efficiency, infrastructure investment, and community development. 

Her work contributed to outcomes such as securing private foundation and government funding, advancing animal no-kill policies, creating two new addiction recovery and autism treatment centers, and building cross-sector consortia to reduce silos among agencies and partners.

In addition to her consulting work, Crystal has held senior business development and strategic partnership roles at Turner Construction, Select Building Systems, and Alamo Architects, contributing to notable projects such as the San Antonio International Airport CONRAC, Texas A&M–San Antonio Science & Engineering and Public Health Buildings, Trinity University Dicke Hall, several UT San Antonio academic and healthcare facilities, and dozens of K-12 public schools across the region.

Crystal continues to serve in leadership and advisory roles, including the City of San Antonio Small Business Economic Development Advisory Board (District 8), the Louise Batz Patient Safety Foundation, the Paint Joy Foundation, and as Immediate Past President of SMPS San Antonio. 

Today, she enjoys time with her son, dog, and her beloved extended family and network of friends.
